Weekend in Review

This past weekend was filled with a lot of jam packed fun filled activities. Friday night I ventured into NYC to help celebrate Jordan’s quarter century birthday over some tapas and drinks with friends at Alta. As most people know my tapas place of choice in NYC is usually Stanton Social, but Alta may have actually won my new number one spot. The first thing I noticed at Alta was the enchanting ambiance. This bi-level rustic haven is equipped with two separate eating areas with a conventional dining area downstairs and an open area upstairs overlooking the main dining area. They have an almost overwhelming menu with most dishes ranging between $7-$14. Jay and I ordered a whole plethora of things and loved every single one of them. If you’re looking for a good place to go on a date or even a good group dining spot I would definitely suggest this place.

On Saturday I went to a friend’s co-ed baby shower where we played traditional games such as guess how big the mom’s belly is, how many baby items in a basket can you name game, guess the baby food flavor (which I proudly won!) and last but not least my favorite: blindfold your partner, diaper them, and feed them a bottle relay race game. Unfortunately Jay and I didn’t win this one but it made for some great pictures.

Here’s a shot of the men in their diapers with the mom-to-be

Unfortunately today there were no mother’s day celebrations since my mom ditched her kids for a trip to Paris instead (can’t really say I blame her!) so instead my Dad and I drove up to Boston for a couple of days. Be prepared to be bombarded with baby overload tomorrow!
