The Time When Everyone I Knew Lied to Me

This weekend Emma and Jay, with the help of my family and friends threw me an absolutely amazing early surprise 25th birthday party (My birthday isn’t actually until July 5th). Knowing how sneaky I am Emma and Jay went as far as making fake email accounts so that I had no way of finding out their devious little plan in addition to continuously throwing me off their scent when I almost found out.

Here are the play by plays of the party:

The plan was that I was supposed to meet Jay outside of Carmine’s for an early birthday dinner and then jet off somewhere for a surprise birthday weekend (I was convinced we were going to the Hamptons as he had told me to pack beach clothes). After spotting Jay on the corner waiting for me we walked towards the lobby of the restaurant and BAM there these two were waiting for me!

Emma had been texting me all day from what I thought was Colorado telling me intricate details about things going on at work, how she was drinking margarita’s at Happy Hour, and about how she was cooking for a dinner party the next night…..needless to say my best friend is a very convincing liar! As the shock was settling in Emma, Adam and Jay quickly ushered me into the restaurant and when I looked up BAM this happened:

My friends and family were waiting for me (they are all such sneaky sneaky people!!) During dinner there was a lot of laughter, food, and of course the mortifying Happy Birthday song with the waiters:

After dinner Emma suggested going to a little rooftop bar in the Indigo Hotel she had been dying to visit called Glass Bar with some of my dinner guests. Little did I know there was one more surprise up her little sleeve. When we got to the hotel we took the elevator up to the top floor and when I exited BAM these people and so many more (I was too in shock to take a pic with the whole big group) were shouting surprise at me:

The whole night passed by so fast and is such a blur to me but I just wanted to take a minute to say Thank You so much to everyone who was involved in making me have the very best early 25th birthday I could ever ask for. I am such a lucky lucky girl to have so many wonderful friends and family members in my life!
