Weekend In Review

Friday kicked off with a birthday celebration for my momma at Alta. Being that I had dined here for a previous birthday party I knew it would be a perfect place to introduce my parents to “tapas” as they are a little late to the game. As most yelpers stated the service was a bit shotty, but the food really makes up for it. Between the nine of us I think we tasted close to everything worth tasting on the menu and doubled up on our favorites such as the fried goat cheese balls, enormous shrimp, and lamb meatballs!

My mom and her sister slamming back birthday tequila shots as per usual, I’m assuming this is where my love for tequila comes from!

Saturday I met Bridgid and Rati for dinner at SD26, the new modern downtown version of the former central park Italian favorite, San Domenico. The ambiance is very sleek and inviting while being deceivingly large. The staff is beyond attentive with their warm smiles and impeccable manners making the dining experience that much more enjoyable. I thought the food was absolutely delicious but my favorite part of the meal was probably their interactive touch screen wine list, a sneak peak into the new future of menus!

The girls and I finished our night by meeting up with boyfriends and friends at the swankiest hookah bar and lounge I have ever been to, Veranda. The lights were dimmed, the music was really good, and the atmosphere couldn’t be beat. All in all was a great night!
